Why More People are Opting Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Using Fillers

Today, non-surgical rhinoplasty is gaining huge popularity. A few years ago, it was relatively new but now, in-office procedure is becoming more commonplace.

Nose jobs, also known as rhinoplasty, is one of the most popular plastic surgery in the UK, but many people that would want to enhance the appearance of their nose simply can’t afford it. That is until doctors begin getting creative of dermal fillers.

What is Non-Surgical Nose job?

Also known as liquid rhinoplasty, a non-surgical nose job aims to change the shape of the nose through the use of injectable fillers. Liquid rhinoplasty can improve the size, shape and in some cases, position of the nasal tip, hide the bump and straighten the nose.

However, liquid rhinoplasty isn’t for everyone. It can only be used to fill depression or hollows. It cannot remove the bump or make the nose look small. An examination and consultation is very important to determine if you are a qualified candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty.

What Product is Used in Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

Juvederm, Perlane, Radiesse and Restylane can all be used for non-surgical rhinoplasty. Hyaluronic acid fillers are the ideal injectable formula for liquid rhinoplasty.

These products are the easiest to shape and mild. They can be completely removed within 24 hours if you desired to inject another medication. Further, they don’t interfere with future rhinoplasty.

Does It Hurt?

A topical anesthetic medication is applied on the skin before the injection. In addition, the filler contains a numbing medication mixed to it to make the nose numb as the procedure progresses. The numbing effect will last for one hour.

How Does Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Work?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty using hyaluronic acid filler can be done within 15 minutes after having your initial consultation.

The filler is injected in different parts of the nose depending on problem you want to correct. Many people prefer liquid rhinoplasty to disguise a hump on the nose bridge, reshape the tip of increase the height of the bridge.

What to Expect?

  1. The doctor will prepare the area with a topical anesthesia.
  2. Filler is injected.
  3. The doctor will massage the area once it’s been injected to shape it and mold it in place.

What are the Instructions After the Procedure?

The best part about non-surgical nose job is that you can actually reverse the procedure if you do not like the results or if you decide to get a surgical rhinoplasty. Your doctor will use a hyaluronidase enzyme to dissolve the fillers.

  1. Gently apply cold therapy using ice pack to your nose for the first 24 hours as tolerated.
  2. For the first 24 hours, keep the head of the bed elevated. Use two pillows to elevate your head slightly higher than your heart.
  3. For the first two weeks, don’t apply pressure, massage your nose or push your nose.
  4. You can wear makeup or any cosmetics anytime.
  5. You can get your nose wet, through swimming or shower, immediately.
